Reflected shadow

Silence, wraps

my reflected shadow

along a pavement

ambiguous and weary

of this world.

My interior rage

that struggles against a wall

with tenacity, built and sustained

by silence

reflects my perplexities.

The vain searching for

an eloquent reply to many queries,

destroys me in my feelings

and I ask in the tone of a challenge

why there are wars.

Man against man,

nation against nation,

empires of emptiness against

empires of nothing… and

meanwhile people are dying.

Mocked twice they die…

or under a hail of bullets

or starving and under-nourished, since

the resources have been used

to build arsenals of death.

Meanwhile, even my shadow

disappears in a blanket of shame,

while silence forces me to

be quiet, reminding me that I am partly

to blame, since I live in this world.
